  At the 28th CACCI Conference - Asia Pacific business community looks beyond 2020  
  The Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) successfully held its 28th CACCI Conference in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia on September 17-19, 2014, with the participation of some 300 delegates composed largely of leading businessmen from 22 Asia-Pacific countries, led by outgoing CACCI President Ambassador Benedicto V. Yujuico from the Philippines.  
 
 
  New CACCI President Jemal Inaishvili prepares to take the helm  
  The CACCI Council, which is the organization’s governing body, on September 17 elected Mr. Jemal Inaishvili, Board Member of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, as CACCI President, replacing Amb. Benedicto Yujuico from the Philippines. Mr. Inaishvili served as CACCI Vice President since 2006. He becomes the 25th CACCI President since the Confederation was first established in 1966.  
 
 
 
  CACCI names office bearers for 2014-2016  
  Key officers from Primary Members have been elected by the CACCI Council to serve as Vice Presidents, Honorary Treasurer, Budget Commission members, and members of the Executive Committee for the term 2014-2016. The newly-elected officers will assist new CACCI President Mr. Jemal Inaishvili in implementing CACCI programs and activities for the next two years.  
 
 
  CACCI approves policy paper on trade liberalization and facilitation  
  The CACCI Council approved the Policy Paper on “Trade Liberalization and Facilitation” during the 83rd CACCI Council Meeting held on September 17 in Kuala Lumpur. The paper was formulated with the assistance of Mr. Bryan Clark, Director of Trade and International Affairs, Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI).  
 
 
 
  South Urals and San Pablo City CCI named Best Local Chambers  
  Two local chambers from CACCI member countries received the 6th Local Chamber Awards during the gala dinner held on September 19, in conjunction with the 28th CACCI Conference in Kuala Lumpur.  
 
 
  Hendy Setiono bags CACCI Young Entrepreneur Award  
  Hendy Setiono, President Director of PT Baba Rafi Indonesia, took home the 5th Asia Pacific Young Entrepreneur Award presented by CACCI during the gala dinner of the 28th CACCI Conference held on September 19, 2014 in Kuala Lumpur.

  Pakistan trade mission visits Philippines  
  A Pakistan trade mission led by Zakaria Usman, president, Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FPCCI) arrived for a three-day visit to the Philippines last Aug. 28.  
 
 
 
  Five women entrepreneurs from CACCI Countries nominated for IWEC Awards 2014  
  Five women entrepreneurs from CACCI member countries are nominated for the International Women Entrepreneurial Challenge Awards (IWEC Awards) 2014 to be held on November 16-19, 2014 in Stockholm, Sweden.  
 
 
  CACCI, ICC Asia, PCCI hold ATA Carnet workshop in Manila  
  ICC Asia Director, Mrs Lee Ju Song, successfully conducted a 2-day ATA Carnet System Workshop on August 26-27, 2014 in Manila. Hosted by the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), and co-organized by CACCI, the workshop was attended by Senior Officials from the Philippines Bureau of Customs (BOC) and trade promotion agencies, business leaders and representatives from PCCI, freight forwarders and fair organizers.  
 
 
 
  ACCI, IORA invite members to “Women’s Economic Empowerment Breakfast”  
  The Australian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ACCI) and the Indian Ocean Rim Association (IORA) are extending their invitation to CACCI members to attend the “ACCI Women’s Economic Empowerment- A Regional Imperative Business Breakfast” on October 8, 2014 in Crown Burswood, Perth, Australia.  
 
 
  Sri Lanka’s Chandula leads the ‘Asia Micro Finance Forum’ for the fourth successive time  
  The Asia Micro Finance Forum, which is the most sought after event of the Micro Finance Industry of Asia successfully concluded in Shanghai on 7th of August 2014, with over 500 delegates from more than 40 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe and USA taking part.  
 
 
 
  Pakistani deputy speaker attends FPCCI Women Entrepreneurs meeting  
  Deputy Speaker Shehla Raza visited the Federation of Pakistani Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) on August 18 to attend a women entrepreneurs meeting. The meeting was organized by Rizwana Shahid, Chairperson of FPCCI Standing Committee on Women Entrepreneurs and attended by a large group of Pakistani businesswomen.  
 
 
  Hisarcıklıoğlu elected as B-20 Turkey President  
  Preparations for the G-20 Summit next year which will be hosted by Turkey are underway. As a part of G-20’s Term Presidency, Turkey will also be hosting the B-20 Summit and will have a great opportunity for promoting Turkey to the leaders of the business world.  
 
 
 
  Asia Pacific business leaders to urge APEC to intensify work to realize FTAAP  
  Issued by the APEC Business Advisory Council (ABAC) Asia Pacific business leaders have expressed concern that, unless APEC stays committed to meeting the Bogor Goals of free and open trade by 2020, accelerate infrastructure development and promote innovation, the growth and prosperity ambitions they share in the region would not be realized.  
 
 
  Sri Lanka Economic Summit 2014 envisions year 2020  
  The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce (CCC) will be hosting Sri Lanka Economic Summit on August 5-6, 2014 at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel in Colombo. Now on its 14th consecutive year, the summit will follow the theme “Sri Lanka 2020: Towards the $7000 Per Capita.”  
 
 
 
  KCCI, JCCI hold 8th Korea-Japan CCI Summit Meeting  
  The Korea Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) and the Japan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (JCCI) hosted the 8th Korea-Japan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Summit Meeting on July 2 at the Jeju Shilla Hotel. About 20 officers of the chambers of commerce of both countries attended this event.  
 
 
  High level EU delegation holds dialogue with PCCI  
  The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI), in its efforts to expand the trade networks for its members, hosted a dinner meeting last June 04, 2014 for the High Level EU Delegation led by Helena Konig, EU director general for trade and head of unit for South and Southeast Asia, Australia and New Zealand. The EU Delegation shared their thoughts on how they view the current Philippine readiness for a bilateral free trade agreement with the EU.  
 
 
 
  CACCI lifetime special member advocates social development  
  Rural communities in the Philippines continue to benefit from social development organizations such as one spearheaded by Mrs. Teresita M. Yujuico, CACCI Lifetime Special Member and 2012 International Women’s Entrepreneurial Challenge Awardee.  
 
 
  GS1 Mongolia claims third prize  
  GS1 Mongolia took home the third prize in a global competition participated by 110 member organizations. The competition was held in conjunction with the 40th anniversary celebration and annual meeting of the GS1 Global Office on February 17-22 in Brussels, Belgium.  
 
 
 
  Vietnam, Iran and Middle East enhance trade cooperation  
  In the framework of the Vietnam - Africa Business Forum, the Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) collaborated with the Embassy of Iran in Vietnam to organize an introductory conference on business in Iran and the Middle Eastern nations in Hanoi.  
 
 
  Sri Lanka tourism gets a lift from PATA  
  Sri Lanka’s Tourism sector gets a boost as the Pacific Asia Travel Association (PATA) appoints Ms. Ratten Abdulhussein, a Sri Lankan to the PATA Industry Council.
