  Colombo Conference Draws Record Turnout of Participants  
  This year’s 24th CACCI Conference in Colombo proved to be the biggest gathering of CACCI members in years, with a record turnout of more than 300 participants from the business sector, the academe, and the government sector.  
 
 
  Amb. Benedicto Yujuico Assumes the CACCI Presidency  
  The Confederation of Asia-Pacific Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CACCI) has a new President in the person of Ambassador Benedicto Yujuico from the Philippines.  
 
 
 
  CACCI Elects Five Vice Presidents  
  Key officers from five Primary Members have been elected by the CACCI Council as Vice Persidents to assist the incoming CACCI President in implementing the CACCI programs and activities for the next two years.  
 
 
  VCCI Hosts E-Commerce Workshop  
  The Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI), jointly with the Taipei-based Secretariat of the APEC Digital Opportunity Center (ADOC) and CACCI, organized the workshop on “E-Commerce: Innovative Ways of Doing Business in the Global Market” in Hanoi, Vietnam on June 29-30, 2010. Some 40 participants attended the workshop.

  Sri Lankan Businessman Wins Young Entrepreneur Award  
  Mr. Nayana D P Dehigama, Chairman/Managing Director of Epic Lanka Technologies (Pvt.) Ltd. from Sri Lanka, was proclaimed winner of the 3rd Asia-Pacific Young Entrepreneur Award during the Gala Dinner of the 24th CACCI Conference held on July 6, 2010 in Colombo. He bested four other finalists short-listed from other CACCI member countries.  
 
 
 
  Dhaka CCI and Selenge Province CCI Named Best Local Chambers  
  Two local chambers – one from Bangladesh and the other from Mongolia – received this year’s 4th Local Chamber Awards during the Gala Dinner held on July 6 in conjunction with the 24th CACCI Conference in Colombo, Sri Lanka.

  CACCI President Mr. Harvey Chang, accompanied by a number of CACCI officers and representatives from CACCI Primary Members, visited Turkey on May 27-29, 2010 and Georgia on May 29-31, 2010 to meet with government and local business leaders in the two countries.  
 
 
  G15 Federation of CCIs Issue Declaration on the Financial and Economic Crisis  
  The 16th Annual Meeting of G15 Federation of Chambers of Commerce Industry and Services (G15 FCCIS) issued a Declaration on the current financial and economic crisis at the end of its 16th Annual Meeting held on May 13, 2010. The Declaration outlined a 12-point proposal on how member countries should respond to the crisis and cope with its adverse impact on their economies.  
 
 
 
  Mongolia CCI Commemorates Its 50th Anniversary  
  This year on July 1-2, the Mongolian National Chamber of Commerce and Industry (MNCCI) will be celebrating its 50th Anniversary of establishment, operation and achievement.  
 
 
  Six Local Chambers Move On to the Final Round of the 4th Local Chamber Awards  
  A total of six local chambers have been short-listed as finalists for the 4th CACCI Local Chamber Awards. Three of the short-listed nominees will vie for the Awards under the Big Chamber Category, and the other three under the Small Chamber Category  
 
 
 
  Five Young Businessmen Short-listed for the 3rd Asia-Pacific Young Entrepreneur Award  
  Five young businessmen from CACCI member countries – two from the Philippines, one from Russia, and two from Sri Lanka - have been short-listed for this year’s 3rd Asia-Pacific Young Entrepreneur Award. The five received the highest scores from among a total of 12 nominees.  
 
 
  Tours Showcasing Sri Lanka’s Cultural Attractions Await CACCI Conference Delegates  
  Delegates of this year’s 27th CACCI Conference will have the opportunity to see and experience first-hand some of the major tourist attractions of Sri Lanka by joining one of the two optional tours being organized by the host chambers of this year’s 24th CACCI Conference that will take place on July 5-7, 2010 in Colombo.  
 
 
 
  11 Local Chambers Compete for the 4th CACCI Chamber Awards  
  A total of 11 nominations from six Asian countries have been received for the 4th CACCI Local Chamber Awards. Of this number, six are vying under the Big Chamber Category and five under the Small Chamber Category.

  The Philippine Learning Centre for Trade and Investment Policy (PLACE), operated and managed by the business think-tank, Universal Access to Competitiveness and Trade (U-ACT) under the auspices of the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, is offering a course on Institutional of Multi-Stakeholder Professional Learning and Universal Skills for Trade Policy and Negotiations at the AIM Conference Center, Makati City, Philippines on 13-16 September 2010.  
   
 
 
  The first Pakistan International Gems & Jewellery Exhibition (PIGJE), organized by Pakistan Gems & Jewellery Development Company (PGJDC), will be held on 5-8 August 2010 at the Pearl Continental Hotel, Karachi, Pakistan.
